Mr. Bush will be remembered for his courage and leadership in the years long before he entered the Oval Office.

Bush was the youngest Navy pilot of his time.

The World War II hero, who also presided during the collapse of the Soviet Union and the final months of the Cold War, died late Friday night at his Houston home.
