Matt Saintsing


Matt Saintsing covers Capitol Hill full-time for CBS Radio’s, reporting on legislation impacting Veterans.

Born in Milwaukee, Matt spent his formative years in South Florida. He joined the U.S. Army in 2003, serving as a signals intelligence analyst with the 101st Airborne Division. He deployed twice to Iraq — first from 2005-2006, then again from 2007-2008.

Leaving military service after 6 years of active duty, Matt took full advantage of his Post-9/11 G. I. Bill benefits, completing a Bachelor’s degree in government and world affairs from the University of Tampa, undertaking a semester of study at the University of Oxford, then earning a Master’s degree in political science from The Ohio University.

Before taking on his current duties, Matt reported on defense issues for Japan’s second largest newspaper, The Asahi Shimbun.
