Kaylah Jackson
REPORTER
Born in Los Angeles, Kaylah Jackson joined the Army National Guard in 2012, serving as an electrical engineer in Florida and Illinois.
She assisted with multiple U.S.-based infrastructure projects before traveling to Guatemala, where she and her unit helped build community schools and medical clinics.
In 2016, Kaylah completed an undergraduate degree at Florida State University and earned a Master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in the summer of 2017.
Kaylah describes her military service as “like being part an international club: a group of like-minded people with pride in themselves, others, and their country. Having the opportunity to give back to that community means the world to me.”
When not at work, or drilling with her National Guard unit, Kaylah enjoys watching documentaries, singing, and shopping for sneakers.
