It's not where you would expect to find a museum honoring U. S. Medal of Honor recipients: 175 miles southwest of Dublin, Ireland.  The County Cork town of Kinsale though, is now site of the Irish Veterans Museum -- created by members of an American Legion post there.

The museum staff estimates that -- of the 3,500 Medals of Honor awarded since the decoration was created in 1861 -- 2,100 of them went to soldiers, sailors, airmen or Marines of Irish-American heritage -- at least 258 of those recipients were actually born in Ireland.
