While on deployment in Iraq, Army Cpt. Joshua Mantz was shot and then…he died.

He flat-lined for 15 minutes.

But miraculously, he came back from the dead and was literally given, a second life.

Over the next decade, Mantz embarked on a journey to learn about his physical and emotional trauma.  More than just the wounds of war, Mantz confronted the darkest issues: guilt, shame, depression, chronic illness and other conditions.

As he drew on his own experience, he also learned from experts, eventually documenting it all in the book, "The Beauty of a Darker Soul: Overcoming Trauma Through the Power of Human Connection".  Now  Mantz travels the world through the company he founded, Darker Souls, to motivate everyone, from small companies and major corporations.

In this gripping interview, you'll hear him talk about:

  • Getting shot in Iraq
  • What it's like to die.White light? Heaven’s gate?
  • What happened next?
  • Dents & dings: Everyone experiences trauma in their life
  • Why “The Beauty of a Darker Soul” is for everyone
  • The journey you need to heal
  • Vulnerability is a weapon
  • Productive suffering?

The powerful video about his experience from DarkerSouls..
