This weekend, Aug. 24 and 25, is Military Appreciation Weekend at Six Flags Over Georgia — which means free admission for veterans and their families.

With a valid military ID, veteran ID, official state ID with veteran endorsement, or DD214, veterans are eligible for free admission to the theme park. They can also purchase an unlimited number of additional tickets for family members or friends at a 50-percent discount.

Active-duty military members are eligible for free admission for themselves and up to three dependents. If the service member is deployed, a spouse and up to three dependents are eligible for free admission.

Free tickets can also be upgraded for $18.99 for free parking and an all-you-can-eat lunch of southern fried chicken, beef hot dogs, potato chips, veggie baked beans and ice cream bars.

Tickets can be purchased at the front gate. Six Flags Over Georgia is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. on August 24 and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 25.
