By not taking advantage of free VA medical care as soon as they leave active duty, some post-9/11 veterans are making it harder to prove their claims for service-related disabilities.
We learned that – and a lot more – from the Marine vet selected this year as the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ service representative of the year. Retired Gunnery Sergeant Cynthia Archuleta, who represents some 7,000 New Mexico veterans in their dealings with the Department of Veterans Affairs, talked with CBS Eye on Veterans:
