President Trump has issued an executive order to recognize President George HW Bush on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Nationwide services will close many federal offices.

However, the president's order provides for VA offices to remain open to conduct the "essential public business" of caring for our nation's veterans.

No VA appointments have been canceled as a result of other federal office closures — if you have an appointment with a VA office on Wednesday you still have it.
