The U.S. Postal Service will dedicate a new Purple Heart Medal Forever stamp on Oct. 4 at INDYPEX, a stamp collectors show in Indiana, to honor the sacrifices of the men and women who serve in the U.S. military.

The 2019 stamp, designed by Bryan Duefrene, features a purple border and a photograph of the medal and its ribbon taken by photographer Ira Wexler. William J. Gicker worked as the art director on the project.

The Purple Heart Medal Forever Stamp will be available nationwide in self-adhesive sheets of 20. This Forever stamp is always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
