Troops serving in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the southwestern border all received Thanksgiving treats thanks to the Defense Logistics Agency. But just how much food does it take to feed an army?

300,000 pounds of food.

How many turkeys, hams, pies, and sweet potatoes is that exactly?

Well, it's...

9,738 whole turkeys

51,234 pounds of roasted turkey and 74,036 pounds of beef

21,758 pounds of ham and 67,860 pounds of shrimp

16,284 pounds of sweet potatoes

81,360 pies and 19,284 cakes

And 7,836 gallons of eggnog

Happy Thanksgiving to all our deployed troops!
