It’s a tradition for the president to attend the commencement ceremony of one of the military academies every year - but they don’t all do what President Donald Trump did for those commissioning from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co. yesterday.

“They gave me a choice. They said, ‘Sir, you don’t have to shake any hands, some people do that,’” Trump told the audience.“You can shake one hand, to the one person, top of the class,” Trump said. “You can shake 10, 50 or 100, and you could also stay for 1,000. And I'm staying for 1,000, OK?”

The nearly 1,000 cadets, as well as friends and family in the audience, cheered.

True to his word, Trump stayed on stage and shook the hand of every new Air Force Officer. He returned to Washington, D.C. later that evening.
