The Green Bay Packers may have scored big against the Buffalo Bills last Sunday (with a 22-0 shutout), but they seriously missed the mark with their redesign of the American flag.

Their stylistic adaptation did not go unnoticed by viewers.

Hot on the heels of the latest development in the Kapernick controversy, angry viewers got angrier. Some blamed the Packers, some blamed the NFL and some blamed Green Bay's citizens.

Others just wanted an explanation.

But even ESPN NFL Packers reporters weren't sure where the flag came from or what it was supposed to be.

The inside scoop from the Packers? It was a "supplemental" banner:

No harm, no foul?
