Navy Federal trolled by customers following latest outage

Navy Federal Credit Union members who anticipated seeing direct deposits posted into their accounts Friday morning … couldn’t, at least for a little while.

Taking to its Twitter account shortly after 8 a.m., eastern time,  the credit union informed members that it was aware of an unidentified "issue" that was causing a delay in the posting of deposits. A deluge of phone calls to its customer service center caused the wait time to speak with a representative to swell to over 40 minutes.

Shortly after 9 a.m., the credit union Tweeted the issue had been resolved, but provided no further information as to its cause.

 

NFCU experienced a similar outage Feb. 13 when both its mobile banking app and website were inaccessible to customers, causing them to receive an error message.

Members wasted no time in Tweeting their annoyance about the most recent issue, expressing frustration over what they termed a communication failure.

In December, NFCU members discovered inaccurate account balances which the credit union said were caused by reporting delays.
