White House Chief of Staff, and retired Marine General, John F. Kelley offered a not-so-subtle rebuke Wednesday, to a teacher in Southern California who insulted American military.

“Well, I think the guy ought to go to hell,” Kelly told host Brian Kilmeade on Fox News Radio. ““I just hope he enjoys the liberties and the lifestyle that we have fought for.”

El Rancho High School teacher, Gregory Salcido, was recorded asking students in his class why they would choose to serve in the military, calling service members “the lowest of our low.” He has sense been placed on administrative leave.

Salcido has since become the subject of blistering criticism and claims he’s received violent threats over a video in which he’s seen insulting American military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan, and other dangerous places.

“Because we have a bunch of dumbs‑‑‑s over there,” he said in the video, which is scattered with profane language. ““Think about the people who you know who are over there. Your freaking stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They’re dumbs‑‑‑s. They’re not like high-level thinkers, they’re not academic people, they’re not intellectual people. They’re the lowest of our low.”

The person who recorded the video, identified in local media reports as an El Rancho High senior, is the son of a veteran.

“So, if you join the military, it’s because you had no other options,” Salcido is heard saying. “It’s because you didn’t take care of business academically, because your parents didn’t love you enough to push you and then you didn’t love yourself enough to push yourself.”

The Whittier Daily News reported Monday that Salcido has been placed on administrative leave.
