From atop the Sydney Harbor Bridge, Prince Harry shared in a moment of reflection with a widow grieving for the loss of the her military husband.

During his Australia tour, Harry opened his fourth annual, Invictus Games, an event for Paralympic service members and veterans.

But after raising the Invictus flag, the new husband and soon-to-be first time father, took time to speak with Gwen Cherne, who’s husband, an Australian special forces officer, died in February 2017.

Coping with grief and loss is something Harry understands all too well, having lost his mother, Princess Diana, when he was 12-years-old.

Gwen thanked Harry and Meghan for how the games highlight the sacrifices of both service members and their families.
