On the latest episode of The CV Report, Gold Star Mom and author Jill Stephenson talks about how this Memorial Day weekend Chicago area families, veterans and supporters participated in “Freedom Walk to the Wall,” a 100-mile commemorative hike from Chicago to the Middle East Conflicts Wall.

Inspired by her own tragedy after her son, US Army Ranger,  Cpl. Benjamin S. Kopp was fatally wounded during his third deployment in Afghanistan in 2009, Stephenson now triumphs as she motivates followers from around the country to walk a collective one million miles, tracking their progress and sharing their journey on social media using the hashtag #FreedomWalkUSA.

The Middle East Conflicts Wall is a first-of-its-kind granite memorial wall that features the names of all fallen soldiers whose lives have been lost from Middle East conflicts since 1967.
