Our Employer of the Week series features one company each week that has made a commitment to hiring and supporting veterans. This week’s employer is ManTech.

Since 1968, ManTech has worked to provide innovative solutions in the defense, intelligence, and federal civilian markets — and they do so with a workforce that is roughly 50 percent veterans.

"As a veteran, I feel very connected to the mission that I once did in the 90s when I was active duty," said Matice Wright, vice president and technical director of Mission & Intelligence Solutions. During her military career, Wright became the first African American Naval flight officer. "I think a lot of the people here feel that sense of mission unlike at some other private sector companies."

For the second consecutive year, ManTech was named by Monster and as the 2018 Best Company for Veterans. The company's dedicated veteran recruitment staff has made sure that the company's workforce stays where it is at 50 percent. ManTech University offers a range of training options for veterans to better understand the business concepts of the civilian landscape, business acumen courses, and a host of certifications. And ManTech offers a military skills translator to help veterans find the perfect fit for their first job in the civilian world.

"The camaraderie and the environment that you experience in the military doesn't really change," said Joel Bosch, a veteran ManTech employee. "You still have the same sense of humor, the same sense of mission, and the same work fighting for the folks you're sitting next to."
