Air Force veteran David Sharpe is the Founder and CEO of Companions for Heroes, an organization that unites rescue dogs with animals. He says the goal is to save two lives at once, and he speaks from experience.

With his life spiraling out of control Sharpe was ready to end it all, with a loaded gun in his mouth and his thumb on the trigger. It was at that moment his rescue Pit Bull Cheyenne came in to the room and stopped him. If that sounds like an amazing story, consider this: it happened a second time. Now, thanks to his "guardian angel" Sharpe is working diligently to keep his fellow vets from getting to that point.

Hear the full story of how David Sharpe went from being ready to kill himself to spending his days trying to make sure no other vet does.
