Budget Director says Military parade could cost almost $30 million

If President Donald Trump gets his wish for a military parade, it could cost between $10 million and $30 million dollars, an administration official said Wednesday.

Mike Mulvaney, the Director for the White House Office of Management and Budget, told a Congressional hearing the cost estimate he has seen so far, and that if the administration does decide to plan one, his office would study its costs, according to a CNN report.

He also said that the estimates are varied because of the cost for the military equipment and the potential scale of the parade. Funding for the parade wasn't a part of this year's budget so allocations would have to be made, Mulvaney said.

The previous military parade of this type was held in 1991 at the end of the Persian Gulf War at a cost of $12 million, or about $22 million today with inflation.
