Well, E3 is finally over. The big companies have cast their dice. Now, that the smoke has cleared, who came out on top? It can be hard to declare a clear “winner,” because all the companies…well, most of the companies, put on a great show. Let’s recap:

Games announced: Halo Infinite, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Crackdown 3, Gears of War 5, Sea of Thieves expansion, Player Unknown’s Battle Grounds map, Forza Horizon 4, Battletoads, Session, Cuphead DLC

Trailers shown: Cyberpunk 2077, Kingdom Hearts 3, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, Jump Force, Dying Light 2, Devil May Cry 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Bethesda Game Studios

Games announced: Fallout 76, Doom Eternal, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, Prey DLC, Rage 2, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6

Games announced: Babylon’s Fall, Just Cause 4, The Quiet Man

Electronic Arts

Games announced: Battlefield V, Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Battlefront II expansion, Unravel 2, Sea of Solitude, Command & Conquer: Rivals, Anthem

Games announced: Beyond Good & Evil 2, Trials Rising, Mario + Rabids Donkey Kong DLC, Skull & Bones, Transference, Starlink: Battle for Atlantis, For Honor expansion, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

Games Announced: The Last of Us: Part II, Ghosts of Tsushima, Control, Resident Evil 2, Death Stranding, Nioh 2, Spider-Man, Déraciné, Destiny 2 DLC

So, there you have it. All the big announcements by all the big companies. So, who “won?” Heh, certainly not Square-Enix. Not to say they don’t have big games coming out, but the games exclusively announced at their show were paltry, and vague, and lacked a few details. There is no clear winner amongst the companies. My inner fanboy is torn between Bethesda and Sony, but Ubisoft did a decent showing, and Microsoft, well, they showed a lot of potential for the future.

Honestly? The only real “winner” is us, the gamers. Just look at all the hype games coming out! Speaking for myself, I’m most hyped for Fallout 76, Resident Evil 2, and Devil May Cry 5. Oh, and The Last of Us: Part II… and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey… and Doom Eternaland Just Cause 4and…
