The Army-Navy Game is set for this Saturday, but the competition has already started off the field.

In this epic rivalry, everyone looks forward to seeing each season's new look.

Together with brands like Under Armour, Nike and Riddell this fashion fight has produced some of the best looking uniforms in all of sports.

Like Navy's 2017 Blue Angels tribute helmet with bad-ass fighter jets soaring across a vivid blue sky. Or when the Army went “All the Way” in 2016 with a tribute to the 82nd Airborne featuring the skull and crossbones and muted black and gray colors to signify that many of these dangerous combat jumps occurred at night.

The 2018 uniforms are just as bold and they're ready for your review:

Army will be wearing special edition “Big Red One” uniforms which honor the First Infantry Division. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the division, a group that played an integral role in World War I.

The uniforms are an intimidating combination of  black on black and red and the video they produced kicks ass!

"Guess who'll be at the Army-Navy football game?"

The accomplishments of Army's 1st Infantry include:

  • The first permanent division in the regular Army.
  • The first American division to fight in the First World War.
  • The first to use modern, combined arms operations.
  • The first to defeat the enemy at the Battle of Cantigny.

Navy uniforms pay a tribute to their gnarly mascot “Bill the Goat,” who earned his place in Navy football fame when he was first brought ashore to watch the Army-Navy game of 1893.  The USS New York was anchored off Annapolis, and midshipmen brought this horned, fearsome fur-covered creature to inspire the team.  They went on to beat Army that year by the unusual score of 6-4 and the goat’s presence has been tradition ever since.

The helmet shows old and gnarly Bill charging hard

The uniforms also feature the legendary last words of Capt. James Lawrence

The Midshipmen are looking for redemption after 2017 when they were beaten in a blizzard, 14-13, by Army (wearing white uniforms honoring the 10th Mountain Division).

The rivalry continues on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Kickoff is 3 p.m. ET and the game will be aired on CBS.

Author’s note: Historically, Annapolis has the edge, having won 60 out of 118 games … Go Navy!
